The other night I couldn't sleep and was reading through one of my mission journals and wanted to share this...
"My grandpa Bruce Kelly is my hero. He always did random acts of charity, he had a smile that brightened everyone's day, people couldn't help but be attracted to him, he treated everyone with love and spent quality time to truly get to know people... even children.
He served a mission in the southern states and spent a lot of time in the Jacksonville Florida (where I served). Bruce served in the US Navy for 4 years, during world war 2. He was a pilot and flew blimps (lighter-than-air) and patrolled the Tillamook Bay watching for submarines and other threats.
A story about Bruce while he was in the armed forces. One day the general got the whole squadron of troops and lined everyone up in a row, Bruce being one of them, The general said they were going to be doing something that had never been done in the history of man... They were experimenting with air-sea rescue. They needed a volunteer who was willing to risk his life. My Grandpa says that he recalls that moment and he remembers looking down the line of men, who he knew fairly well, and thinking to him self "most of these men have families at home and they don't know about the gospel. It would be better if I were to die then one of them." So Bruce stepped forward, in courage and faith, out of the line of men and volunteered him self. It was a success and since that day millions of air-sea rescues have taken place successfully.
I will always remember Bruce's example. I hope that I can become a man as courageous as my grandpa... Bruce Kelly is my Hero .
We have some big shoes to fill and live up to... All of us with the Kelly/Murdock name are the ones that are carrying on this legacy Bruce left. We bear the Kelly name that Bruce established...
In memory of Bruce Kelly aka "The King of Fun!"

I was reading the New Testament today and I got caught up on the story of the rich young ruler (Luke 18: 18-27) where Jesus states "it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of god!" This was frustrating to me so I researched it further and learned that Jesus used powerful symbolism referring to passing through the "eye of a needle". The eye of a needle is symbolism for the small entrance way into a city, back in the day... I kept researching and found out that for a camel to pass through one of these small entries (the eye of a needle) they would have to strip everything off the camel and the camel would have to get on its knees and crawl through. When I read this it hit me like a brick... In order for a rich man to get into heaven he has to completely strip him self of all worldly things and get on his knees in humility.
The world today is very superficial and majority of peoples energy is focused on material things that are very temporary and worthless in the eyes of God... It's hard for me to always stay focused on things of eternal worth but this scripture really rang true for me and I learned that riches are only bad if you allow them to run your life. I am giving my life some thought and I am going to refocus myself on the things that really matter... Life is short and at the end of the day money doesn't mean a thing.

First Flapper of 2010... Rock Climbing
Energy

- Me playing drums at 1:30 AM
I had so much energy all day! I went through all my workouts today and it kicked my trash but I got so stoked and energized! I couldn't sleep so I played drums and guitar till around 4 in the morning... I slept like a baby!
Playing drums is by far the best way for me to release stress and clear my mind!
I can't wait to finish these workout videos and share them with everyone... "The all day workout" is really going to help so many people improve their health! I love it because it's not just a workout but it's a lifestyle. It not only improves your health and strength but it energizes you and makes you happier!

Great Day! Kennys B-Day!
Today has been an amazing day! I got up early and went to the gym then tanning. It's my brother, Kenny's, birthday today. I had to get him something sweet... so I found these "Jesus" sandals made out of rope! I'm not gonna lie they are pretty awesome! Then I went climbing with Tigger, Steve and Mike at pioneer park. I love climbing with them because I realize how freakin' weak I am! Needless to say they motivate me to get better and push myself harder. I put in a full work day focusing on getting clear on my intentions for copykasey.com! I'm really excited about it! I finally came up with the perfect tag-line for copykasey... "Progress is everything!"
Steve and Jacy came out to Sky Ranch and hung out with Ali and I... Great night with friends!
My Bro Kenny is the best brother in the world! He really is one of the most inspirational people in my life. I have never met anyone who is so unconditionally loving and grounded. Whenever I am fortunate enough to spend time with him he amazes me how he conducts his life with so much love, power, fun, productivity, and healthy activities. Kenny is not only an amazing father but a pilot, business owner, brother, friend, and example to everyone in his life! I look up to my bro and love the relationship I have with him! It's people like Kenny who make the future of this world look hopeful! I love you bro, lets make this year a year to be remembered! Happy Birthday!

SMILE... The Best Outfit You Can Wear!
I will walk with a spring in my step, Keep my chin up, shoulders back and a smile on my face. I am confident in who I am and I choose to SMILE at everyone even if they choose not to smile back.
My Smile shines happiness to all who see me and inspires others to smile and be happy. My smile allows others to approach me and connect with me. When I smile I am ridding myself of fear, sadness, and all insecurities…
I am choosing to be happy… My Smile has the power to open doors of opportunity, influence others to believe in me, and attract other positive people in my life.
Smile…. It will make everyone wonder what you have been up to!!!

Quote of the Day
"When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry,
show life that you have a hundred reasons to smile."
show life that you have a hundred reasons to smile."
